Untitled Poem

I speak for those who can’t speak for themselves
for those who are afraid
and for those who can’t find the words to say

For those who were too young to have been taught what consent is
but had an awareness that it was wrong
that their minds, mouths and bodies never consented

I speak for those who when they speak
aren’t heard
are drowned out

I speak for those blaming themselves
healing by themselves

I speak for those who are told to speak only when they are spoken to
and then are never spoken to

I speak for those who when they speak out
are berated
bullied
and not believed
for those who bury their memories

I speak for those who can’t speak for themselves
