Our Story
The Floor Magazine is an online and print publication celebrating emerging talents of colour in the literary and creative worlds.
Our content doesn't just appeal to our readers, we highlight the writer, the subject and everyone in between. With a focus on Music, Literature and the Visual Arts (TV and Film) we take pride in meaningful commentary and shaping the narrative on pop culture.
We believe what is covered and who covers it ultimately decides what is deemed important news, and creatives of colour have routinely been excluded from the scene. For example, 86% of all Black music creators agree that there are barriers to progression*, and this is just within the UK.
Through our biannual issues, online coverage, events and video content we are actively taking part in closing the gap for marginalised creatives across all of our focused topics - whilst also cementing ourselves as a cornerstone in future conversations.
