Beats By Dre x Daily Paper: Connected Through Sound

This week, Beats By Dre and Daily Paper unveiled their debut collaboration titled “Connected Through Sound”. The hip-hop inspired buds are in line with the Daily Paper SS22 collection, which draws on influences from Hip-Hop culture from the 70s – 90s. The bold and flamboyant design pays homage to one of Hip-Hop’s core pillars, and one of its most well-recognised global exports – graffiti.

The white noise-canceling wireless earbuds boast a 24-hour battery life, as well as water and sweat resistance. Each bud is etched with a red graffiti-inspired iteration of the Daily Paper logo. The charging case is wrapped with art that’s reminiscent of New York’s hip-hop and graffiti scene in the 80s and 90s.

Though the relationship between Daily Paper and Beats is still in its infancy – only unfolding last year – this collaboration perfectly intersects both brands’ commitment to community, unity, diversity and music.

As Abderrahmane Trabsini, Daily Paper Co-founder and Design Director, explains...

"Music is one of the most important brand pillars for us as it brings our community together”. “Working with Beats has always been on our wish list of collaborations. It's also an extension of the current SS22 collection which is inspired by hip-hop culture.”

“Connected Through Sound”, perfectly describes the pairing's collaboration, and how music has shrunk our global borders, making us more interconnected than ever before. The campaign film features Unknown T, British-Ugandan rapper, whose percussive yet effortless flow, genre and melodies choices are the direct product of migrant cultures colliding and connecting. He was the perfect choice for this campaign because of how his music represents being connected through sound, and him being a long-time friend of Daily Paper. The film offers snippets of his musical journey, from him scribbling down his first lyrics to him getting ready backstage to perform to thousands.

The special edition collaboration will launch globally online at www.dailypaperclothing.com/collections/beats and across Daily Paper Flagship stores in Amsterdam, NYC and London, on Thursday May 26 at 12 PM CEST.
